This is an introductory training which will provide information on identifying symptoms of religious trauma as well as aspects that contribute to religious trauma in clients. This serves as a foundational introduction to religious trauma in clients.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Identify aspects of high control environments that contribute to religious trauma
- Identify symptoms of religious trauma
- Consider the stages of trauma recovery in relation to religious trauma

Meet Your Presenter!
Stephanie Weikle is a licensed clinical mental health counselor based in North Carolina. She received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2020 and has been working in the mental health field since 2016. Stephanie has worked in a wide variety of areas including school based therapeutic day treatment, substance abuse counseling, intensive outpatient programs, a geriatric psych unit, and outpatient services. Stephanie's work with clients focuses heavily on religious trauma, neurodivergence, and the LGBTQIA+ populations. She utilizes IFS, EMDR, and reality therapy in her work.
In Stephanie's spare time she has a passion for creativity through art and crafting. She enjoys hiking, video games, and spending time with her dogs by the lake.
